LOCATION

REQUIRED

• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects in a dynamic environment of competing priorities.
• 8+ years of Visual C++ development and Windows/SQL Server systems architecture experience
• 4 years of team leadership
• Working knowledge of MS Visual Studio, Office, and Project

PREFERRED

• Prior MS certification (Windows Server or SQL Server) a plus
• Web development (MS .NET/ASP) a plus
• One or more years of technical project management experience preferred
• Material handling or industrial automation experience a plus

EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science - Computer Science or Bachelor of Science - Computer Engineering. MBA a plus, PMP preferred.

OVERVIEW
The Project Engineer is responsible for making sure that the contractual scope is delivered within the established budget and schedule, and with the appropriate level of quality. This person has a high level of contact with clients, Controls, and client's project management, and translates the results of those discussions into prioritized action items for the team. This person is also responsible for knowing the contract and client specs intimately, and for creating gap analyses between those specs and the client's current product. Project Engineer also generates the appropriate specs and ensures they are approved quickly by the client. Collaborates with the Chief Software Engineer and other Project Engineers on project resourcing and other common administrative activities.

This position is responsible for the management of 2-4 projects, of which project management is the primary responsibility. However, the PE is also expected to fill in as a technical resource when those administrative duties are satisfied, or as need dictates.

DURATION
This is a contract-to-hire position.

COMPENSATION
Up to 48/hour, commensurate with experience (some overtime required).
